Your recent support in our photo shoot for Aleph Magazine (Page 36) was a true testament to your elegance and grace. We deeply appreciate your collaboration and are eager to learn more about your journey and aspirations.

 

MOTRATi Team- Reflecting on the Aleph Magazine Photo-shoot in Vancouver: Can you share your experience collaborating with MOTRATi for the Aleph Magazine photo shoot? How did you feel wearing MOTRATi‘s elegant and sophisticated designs on set?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

Collaborating with MOTRATi was an an honour for me just over a year ago. As a feminine woman In Vancouver, I was seeking a brand who sold timeless classic pieces with vibrant colours. Once you tried on their pieces you could tell they were highly selective with their fabrics and designs. As I was on set, I felt the comfortable stitching of their beautiful collection hugging my curves, it truly made me feel powerful and feminine I am thankful for the opportunity to closely be working with the Aleph magazine and MOTRATi team, it was a dream team using creativity to create magic!

MOTRATi Team - Connecting with Roots: Moving back to Sofia, Bulgaria, where your family originates, must hold special significance. Could you tell us about this transition and how it has influenced your personal and professional journey?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

I left my roots in Bulgaria when I was just seven year old, however I held my memories of my childhood closely to me heart and my strong connection with my grandma. Which is why I often travelled back every summer to fill my life with those positive emotions and freedom I felt once I landed in Bulgaria.

Professionally, I never intended on moving back to Bulgaria, but I always had a curiosity for life here. Once I won the title of Miss World Bulgaria, I decided to dedicate my time falling in love with my culture yet again, I became interested of our traditions and of our rich culture which I will represent on the international stage at Miss World in Delhi, India. This transition was unexpected but it opened so many doors for me, I am consistently aligning with my purpose, and I am dedicated in making a change for the young generation by sharing my own story, using vulnerability as my strength and convincing them to follow their passions. I am proud to be the face for change, and developing Bulgaria socially.

MOTRATi Team - Embracing a Mission: As Miss World Bulgaria 2022, you carry a significant responsibility. Could you elaborate on the mission you aim to champion during your reign, and how it aligns with your personal values?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

As Miss World Bulgaria I realize the significance this title brings, you have to develop yourself holistically in all aspects becoming a rounded character. My first and fore most mission is consistently working on my own foundation which I created called Woman Squared initially in Canada, and now it is becoming an international platform.

Unfortunately many women and children suffer the consequences of abusive and toxic relationships in silence. I created Woman Squared with the purpose of educating women and children on healthy relationships and how to make genuine and meaningful connections in their lives. I host a series of workshops and seminars and through my book Forbidden Words, I share my story and teach others that they are the creators of their own reality no matter the difficult circumstances they face.

I want to be the spokesperson and voice who are vulnerable to the drastic effects of destructive relationships, changing the narrative about them in society one step at a time. This aligns with my life, because I know what it’s like to feel alone, and the emotional turmoil which often comes with these types of relationships. I am here to tell you, you are not alone.

MOTRATi Team - Setting Goals: What are your primary goals for the duration of your reign as Miss World Bulgaria? Are there specific initiatives or projects that you’re particularly passionate about advancing?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

As I mentioned earlier I am very passionate about working closely with the young teenagers in high-schools. As part of two incredible platforms, both Karin Dom and Сподели и Вдъхнови I am able to motivate and inspire kids through my own story, as an immigrant to Canada, with the obstacles I’ve had to face to be where I am today. There is long term impact within that, and I am so incredibly grateful to be part of it. I’ve recieved so much positive feedback with my work, and it stimulates me to do it more often, because I know that our future is in the hands of the young generation.

My work in psychology has also been an interest of mine since I can remember. We are all unique masterpieces in the stories we tell, make yours worth telling is what I remind myself everyday. After studying at UBC, in Vancouver I realized that relationships and trauma are so often intertwined but we refuse to openly speak about the core of the issue. Which is why I decided to begin the conversation in a niche field, making a safe space for those who are vulnerable.

Lastly, I am very intrigued by modelling, and developing myself in this field. After completing Coco Rocha’s model camp, I realized that modelling is a career which  trains you to be a chameleon in any situation. It makes you adaptable in any situation. Which is a gift in any professional field you may chose as your career path. 

MOTRATi Team - Fusion of Elegance and Beauty: MOTRATi prides itself on offering elegant, sophisticated, and classy fashion. How do you see this aligning with your personal style and your role as Miss World Bulgaria?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

I believe that fashion is an art form, and is about expressing yourself to the world around you. MOTRATi represents both femininity and class of a woman in their timeless pieces. Miss World is the oldest and most renowned pageant in the world, they share a similar vision for personal style. As a face for Miss World Bulgaria, I elevate classy pieces and dress them up for any occasion. Rich colours are empowering and make you feel confident in your purpose. Through my fashion sense I am expressing myself and a clarity for my vision and who I am.

 

 

MOTRATi Team – Empowering Women: In what ways do you believe fashion and personal style can be empowering for women? How do you hope to inspire and uplift other women through your platform?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

Fashion is a powerful tool which can be used on any occasion. Fashion has the power to uplift, and make a woman believe that anything is possible. Your personal style makes a statement about you without saying a word. A woman who has a powerful message to share, can use fashion as a creative outlet for creating good in the world. For example, I was part of many philanthropic events in Bulgaria where we created a fashion show, showcasing beautifully crafted designs by Neli Anastasova. The audience was inspired and moved by the purpose of the event: to raise funds for kids with autism. Ultimately fashion and philanthropy go hand in hand. We raised funds and sources for kids and their families to lead a more fulfilling life, and get the proper education necessary to thrive. I believe we always have an opportunity to give, and help those who may not receive the help they need from society.

I want to prove to woman that making an investment towards yourself is what will lead you to self fulfillment. Developing yourself as a woman, will enrich you and make you believe in your own internal power which each of us carries within ourselves. I want to be an example, that toxic relationships did not define me, that you can escape their grasp and become the person you always aspired to be. I want to give women the gift of knowledge and the proper tools to escape their difficult circumstances and the power of walking away and never looking back.

MOTRATi Team – Future Aspirations: Beyond your current title, what are your aspirations for the future? Are there any specific projects, collaborations, or ventures that you’re particularly excited about pursuing?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

I am excited about many future opportunities which await for Woman Squared. Creating a book signing event, for my poetry book Forbidden Words where each woman can realize she is not alone. I will also be speaking at multiple international woman conferences within the next year. Most importantly is creating an international academy for Women seeking help, and providing them with holistic development in every area of their life.

I never know what the future will hold, but I am looking forward to working with MOTRATi on future projects where I can transpire their ideas into life and elevate their brand in any way I can. Working with them has been inspiring, to see two beautiful sisters with a vision, and creating so much life and joy through their pieces is a feeling which is rare in fashion. I am thankful to know them, and will always be beside them!

MOTRATi Team – Message to Aspiring Individuals: What advice would you offer to young individuals aspiring to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond, much like yourself?

Kristiyana Yordanova:

I have a lecture in Bulgaria, called “the power of being different” I speak about the misconception that being the black sheep in society is portrayed as negative. However, I believe that is where our power comes from, the unique traits which we carry with us. I want to remind each one of you, that being different is what carries the key to success. Once I moved back to Bulgaria, I realized that being authentic and true to myself is what allowed me to make a positive impact beyond what I could imagine. I removed the limitations within my own mind, and dedicated my efforts to do what I was most passionate about. Each of us has a purpose we just have to find it, and follow it.
