The Vest and Cinema Story
It wasn’t just any vest. It was the long vest our 4,000 year old Albanian heirloom, an A-shaped masterpiece stitched with prayers and eagles, where white spoke of youth, red of marriage, and black for wisdom. My grandmother’s hands on the loom were my first lullaby.
They taught me that luxury authentic clothing isn’t bought; it’s born. It’s a language.
But my heart listened to another whisper, too faint, crackling, from a hand built antenna pulling dreams across the Adriatic. On a staticky screen, Italian glamour glowed: Sophia Loren’s defiance, Armani’s sleek lines.
In a room where we spoke in hushed tones, my sister and I pledged a secret pact to beauty.
We were daughters of the cinema, too. Our father, a cinema director, filled our home with reels of storytelling and portraits of screen legends. He showed us that style is a character you become. It’s drama. It’s light.
The 28-Year Quest: From Secret to Signature
The Journey
So I embarked on a quest. A 28 year apprenticeship across the fashion capitals I once only dreamed of.
In Milan, I learned sprezzatura the art of effortless elegance.
In Prague, as co-founder of a Giorgio Armani boutique, and two Jewellery Stores I learned that a garment is a feeling. It’s the silence before a woman walks into a room.
In Vancouver, I found home. For decades, I helped build iconic brands from the ground up: GUESS Accessories, and Guess by Marciano. In 2011, I became the first to bring UGG to Canada, expanding their presence across Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. I had the privilege of styling Hollywood stars, Marcia Cross, Eva Langoria and many more.
Now at MOTRATi, I’ve dressed North Hollywood actors, CTV’s Keri Adams, and influential leaders. Through it all, one truth became clear: what women truly want is to feel feminine, powerful, polished, and profoundly themselves.
Yet, the question from my childhood never left: “Where is the clothing that has the soul of my grandmother’s vest and the sophistication of Italian tailoring?“
The Answer Was a Fashion Brand and a Boutique in Vancouver
The childhood question.
The answer, it turned out, wasn’t to be found. It was to be built. Joined by my sister, whose heart beat for the unique elegance of Milan as fiercely as mine, we united around a single dream: our own fashion brand, born in 2018.
We worked with love and passion on our fashion brand online and opened our first boutique in 2021 in Vancouver, BC. In the quiet that followed, our purpose came into perfect focus: to craft clothing that delivers a quiet, powerful elegance the kind that turns posture into poise and fabric into conviction, elevating not just a moment, but your very presence in the world.
Into this vision, we poured every lesson: every mountain hymn from our heritage, every architectural Milanese line we loved, and every fitting-room confession that revealed what a woman truly hopes to see in the mirror.
The Alchemy of MOTRATi Movement

The name MOTRATi holds a beautiful duality.
Rooted in the Albanian word for ‘sisters’ (motrat), it honors the bond that founded this brand. It also echoes the Latin mōtus, meaning ‘movement.
This is our essence: sisters in motion moving heritage forward, moving women toward their power, and moving timeless style into the future with every piece we create.
To look good is an act of presentation. To feel good is an act of power. This is the heartbeat of MOTRATi.
